Audio Transcription

Record audio directly in the editor and have it transcribed automatically.

Sometimes it is easier to speak your thoughts than to type them out. Goodterm lets you record audio right inside the editor and automatically transcribes it into text.

How It Works

In the editor toolbar, you will find an audio record button. Click it to start recording with your microphone. When you are done, click the button again to stop. The recording is sent to Goodterm's AI (powered by Gemini), which transcribes it into text and inserts it directly into your record.

The transcription usually takes just a few seconds, depending on the length of your recording.

Transcription Language

By default, the transcription detects the spoken language automatically. If you want to set a specific language for transcription, you can do so in your AI settings. This can help improve accuracy when the auto-detection does not match your language.

Tips for Good Results

  • Speak clearly and at a natural pace
  • Try to minimize background noise
  • Shorter recordings tend to produce more accurate results
  • You can always edit the transcribed text afterward — it is regular text in your record, just like anything you type
